engine for fitment to Caterham’s,
Developed by “Scholar Engines” the standard Ford Duratec I4 engine is modified to produce in excess of 220h.p. This gives an engine with good tractability along with good maximum horsepower. Engine configuration is based around a standard engine with replacement of parts to enhance reliability and performance. This includes the following:-
1) Single mass lightweight steel flywheel and uprated clutch assembly.
2) Modified induction system with separate 45mm throttle bodies.
3) MBE 967 management system mapped for optimized spark and fueling controlled by air temperature, engine speed , water temperature, throttle position and barometric pressure.
4) Pace three stage dry sump system.
5) Modified cylinder head gasflowed to improve the breathing capacity of the engine.
6) Uprated camshafts, valve springs and retainers.
7) Engine fully balanced. Connecting rods fitted with ARP bolts.
8) Run in and dyno tested with power and torque printout.
